Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared that he has the competence and capacity to lead Nigeria as President come 2027.
Makinde made this known during an appearance on Politics Today, where he spoke confidently about his political readiness, citing his administration’s achievements in Oyo State as proof of his preparedness for the nation’s highest office.
While acknowledging that any presidential ambition must be in harmony with the will of Nigerians and the direction of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Makinde was clear in stating that he is well-equipped for the role.
Rejecting the idea of populist politics, the governor emphasised that his focus remains on fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people of Oyo State. He also noted that any future political decisions would be guided by proper planning and accountability.
Reflecting on his political journey since 2007, Makinde expressed satisfaction with his progress and reaffirmed his commitment to good governance.
