ARIBASOYE URGES EKITI RESIDENTS TO PARTICIPATE, WARNS AGAINST POLITICAL RUMOURS

Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has urged his constituents to take full advantage of the upcoming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise set to commence on August 18. He stressed that active participation in the electoral process is crucial for citizens to have their voices heard, particularly for those who have not previously registered or were not of voting age before now. Aribasoye commended INEC’s improvements over the years and called for a smooth, stress-free registration process.

Highlighting the political significance of voter registration, the Speaker encouraged party supporters to register as part of efforts to re-elect Governor Biodun Oyebanji and support other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates. He recalled the State Assembly’s unanimous motion in October 2024 to extend the Governor’s mandate beyond 2026 and expressed pride that Ekiti was the first state to endorse President Bola Tinubu for another term, with support from both party members and non-politicians.

Aribasoye also cautioned citizens against falling for fake news, political rumours, and blackmail as the election season approaches. He warned that mischief-makers may twist statements and decisions of government for political gain, but assured that Ekiti is on the right track and will not be derailed. He urged residents to focus on credible information and remain steadfast in supporting the state’s progress.
