Babarinde Hails Tinubu–Sanwo-Olu Reconciliation as Party Strengthens Unity

Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa, Mr. Bola Babarinde, has described the reconciliation between President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as a significant relief and a positive development for party unity. He made this known in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Lagos.

The reconciliation follows President Tinubu’s declaration during a closed-door meeting with the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council, where he announced that the rift with Sanwo-Olu had been resolved and forgiveness extended. Babarinde, who now serves as the General Secretary of Renewed Hope Global, praised the move as a beacon of hope for the APC.

He acknowledged that the reported tensions between the two leaders had stirred public concern, with widespread speculations, criticisms, and unwarranted calls for sanctions against the governor. Babarinde expressed relief over the resolution, emphasizing that it would foster party cohesion and strengthen public confidence.
