China Urges Peace Amid Iran-Israel Ceasefire Agreement

China has called for a swift return to diplomatic negotiations between Iran and Israel, following news that both nations have agreed to a ceasefire proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Speaking on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun emphasized the need for a “political resolution” to the ongoing conflict, urging all involved parties to abandon violence and seek constructive dialogue.

President Trump announced earlier that a ceasefire was officially in effect, calling on both Iran and Israel to uphold the agreement and refrain from further escalation. The ceasefire comes on the 12th day of heightened tensions and hostilities between the two longtime adversaries.

China’s statement reflects growing international concern over the stability of the Middle East. By encouraging both sides to pursue diplomacy, Beijing positions itself as a proponent of peaceful conflict resolution and reinforces its role as a key stakeholder in global geopolitical affairs.
