Eid-el-Kabir: Oyebanji Urges Sacrifice, Unity, and Prayers for Nation’s Progress

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the Governor described the festival as a time of joy, reflection, and sacrifice. Drawing from the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah, Oyebanji emphasized that true victory and fulfillment often come through selflessness and submission to divine will.

Governor Oyebanji called on Muslims to embrace the core lessons of the festival—total devotion to God, love for one another, and peaceful coexistence. He commended the Muslim community in Ekiti for their consistent role in promoting harmony and development, stressing the need for unity among all religious groups. According to him, building a better Ekiti requires the collective support and cooperation of all residents, irrespective of faith.

The Governor also urged Muslims to celebrate in moderation and show kindness, especially to the less privileged. He encouraged continuous prayers for his administration and that of President Bola Tinubu, expressing optimism that the country is on the path to a brighter future. Wishing Muslims a joyful celebration, Oyebanji prayed for divine acceptance of their sacrifices and efforts during the holy season.
