EIGHT KILLED, HUNDREDS INJURED AS ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTESTS ROCK KENYA

At least eight people have been confirmed dead and over 400 injured following widespread anti-government protests across Kenya on Tuesday. The demonstrations were aimed at expressing public discontent with President William Ruto’s administration.

Clashes between protesters and police erupted in Nairobi and other major cities, marking exactly one year since a similar wave of deadly protests swept the country in 2024. Protesters attempted to march to the President’s official residence but were forcefully repelled by security forces.

The government had earlier banned live television and radio coverage of the protests, but the High Court in Nairobi overturned the decision, reinstating media freedom. President Ruto, meanwhile, called for calm, urging demonstrators to refrain from actions that could undermine national peace and stability.
