The Ekiti State Government has commenced the construction of the 15.10km Ido-Ipere-Iludun road under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), aimed at enhancing access to farmlands and boosting economic activities in the state.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Ido-Ekiti, Special Adviser and Director General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Dr John Ekundayo, commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for prioritising rural development. He urged residents of Ido-Osi and Ilejemeje local government areas to take ownership of the project to ensure its sustainability.
Ekundayo noted that the road, long requested by communities in the area, will significantly improve access to agricultural hubs and stimulate commerce and communal development. He revealed that contractors have already commenced site clearing and other preliminary works.
