The Ekiti State Government says it is intensifying disease surveillance and rapid response mechanisms across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas to prevent outbreaks of diseases, including Ebola Virus Disease and Diphtheria.

The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani, said the state’s surveillance and response systems have been strengthened to ensure early detection, prompt reporting and effective containment of suspected cases.

Filani said the measures are aimed at improving the state’s preparedness and ensuring swift action whenever suspected disease cases are identified.
