Elon Musk Blasts Trump’s Spending Bill as ‘Disgusting Abomination’

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has strongly criticized former President Donald Trump’s proposed federal spending bill, denouncing it as a “disgusting abomination” and warning of its severe economic implications. Musk’s comments, made on X (formerly Twitter), came just days after stepping down from his 130-day tenure as a special government employee tasked with leading the Department of Government Efficiency. He expressed frustration over the bill’s excessive spending, labeling it as pork-filled and irresponsible.

In his scathing remarks, Musk condemned the projected $2.5 trillion budget deficit the bill would create, arguing it would saddle American citizens with an unsustainable national debt. “Shame on those who voted for it,” Musk wrote, adding that lawmakers were aware of the harm they were causing. He emphasized that the proposal’s financial recklessness could have long-term consequences for the country’s economic stability.

The controversial bill, which is still under debate in the Senate, seeks to implement sweeping tax cuts while ramping up spending on military operations, oil drilling, and border security. At the same time, it proposes significant reductions in Medicaid and food assistance programs—moves critics say could disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. Musk’s public denouncement adds to growing scrutiny of the bill from economists and policy experts alike.
