Former members of Peter Obi’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council have launched a political platform, known as Batified Obidients, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

In a statement, the group described itself as a national coordination platform committed to supporting Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former campaign council members said they participated in Obi’s 2023 campaign with commitment and professionalism, believing in the need for a new direction for Nigeria.

However, they said their experience during the campaign and months of reflection led them to conclude that Obi did not sufficiently possess the leadership qualities they considered necessary for the country at this time.

The group said it would mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and promote the administration’s agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
