The Federal Capital Territory Administration has disclosed that 61,384 individuals are currently undergoing HIV/AIDS treatment across the region. This announcement was made during World AIDS Day commemorations, as part of ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
Dr. Keffi Abubakar, the FCT Director of Public Health, emphasised the importance of testing, treatment, and preventive measures in controlling HIV/AIDS prevalence. The FCTA reiterated its commitment to reducing the stigma surrounding the condition.
The government is also collaborating with partners to ensure wider access to antiretroviral drugs and community-based interventions.
