The Federal Government has given Ekiti State a high rating for its robust agricultural interventions and investments geared toward enhancing food security across the nation.
According to the report, Ekiti was singled out among states in the region for its deliberate and strategic efforts to boost agricultural productivity. The report highlighted remarkable growth in the cultivation of key crops such as maize, rice, cowpea, soybean, yam, and cassava — citing improvements in land usage, total output, and yield per hectare.
Ekiti State was also recognised as one of the few states that actively procured and distributed essential farming inputs like seedlings and agrochemicals to farmers during the 2024 farming season. This support significantly improved productivity across the agricultural value chain.
