The Federal Government on Tuesday said it would begin to distribute 50,000 mattresses to the Nigeria Correctional Service centres across the country.
The gesture was said to be part of the move of the FG, aimed at improving inmates’ welfare and reinforcing rehabilitation within the correctional system.The Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo disclosed this at the presentation of 850 mattresses for the imates of the NCS Centre at Olokuta, Akure, the state capital on Tuesday.
Tunji-Ojo, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Correctional Reforms, Babatunde Ogundare, stated that the nationwide reform of the centres will continue.
