The Federal Government has approved a total grant of N4.2 billion to fund 158 research projects across Nigerian universities under the 2024 TETFund National Research Fund Grant Cycle. The projects were selected after a competitive process involving 6,944 concept note submissions from researchers nationwide.
A detailed breakdown shows that N2.35 billion was allocated to projects in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation. The Humanities and Social Sciences category received N1.03 billion, while the Cross-Cutting research category got N870 million.
The initiative aims to boost academic research, innovation, and development in higher institutions, ensuring meaningful contributions to national growth and global competitiveness.
