The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir) celebration. This announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on behalf of the government.
In his message, the minister congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for national peace, unity, and prosperity.
Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at putting the nation back on the path of progress. He called on all citizens to support the administration’s efforts to restore Nigeria’s greatness and wished the Muslim community a joyful and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
