FG okays N110bn upgrade for 18 medical schools.

The Federal Government, through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, has announced a N110bn investment to upgrade medical education in 18 universities across Nigeria.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, disclosed this on Tuesday while inaugurating the Ministerial Committee on the TETFund High Impact Intervention Project for Medical Schools Rehabilitation across the six geo-political zones, in Abuja.

This initiative comes amid the ongoing exodus of Nigerian-trained healthcare professionals in search of better opportunities abroad—a trend commonly referred to as japa.
