FG Unveils New Initiatives to Strengthen Families, Tackle Poverty

As Nigeria marked the International Day of Families, the Federal Government announced plans to launch three major national initiatives aimed at enhancing family cohesion, safeguarding vulnerable children, and alleviating poverty, especially at the grassroots level.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement released on Friday by her Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Jonathan Eze.

According to the Minister, the initiatives will be launched under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and are designed as strategic responses to the pressing challenges families currently face—ranging from rising living costs and insecurity to the breakdown of social structures, particularly in urban centres.

She noted that the government remains committed to building resilient families and fostering inclusive communities where every member can thrive.
