Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former Governor of Oyo State and a respected mathematician, engineer, and technocrat, has passed away just days before his 90th birthday.
His family confirmed the news in a statement on Sunday signed by Oladapo Ogunwusi. The statement, titled “Victor Olunloyo Goes Home,” described his passing as a devastating loss but also expressed gratitude for his impactful life and service to Nigeria.
Olunloyo, who held the traditional titles of Balogun of Oyo and Otun Bobasewa of Ife, was the first Rector of both the Ibadan Polytechnic and Kwara State Polytechnic. The family has requested privacy as they begin preparations for a befitting burial.
