The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years in prison over ₦33.8 billion fraud and money laundering charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Justice James Omotosho found him guilty on all 12 counts and ordered the sentence to run consecutively.

The court ruled that Mamman diverted funds meant for major federal power projects through Bureau de Change operators and carried out suspicious cash transactions, including property purchases in Abuja. It also ordered the forfeiture of recovered foreign currencies and several properties linked to him.

Mamman was tried and convicted in absentia, as he was not present during proceedings or sentencing.

 The court issued a warrant for his arrest and directed security agencies to work with Interpol to track him down.
