Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Ekiti and across Nigeria, urging them to reflect on the significance of the season and live out its virtues.In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the Governor described the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a divine gift to humanity, symbolising hope, redemption, and renewal.
He called on Christians to emulate the virtues of humility, perseverance, and compassion demonstrated by Christ, especially during this period. He also encouraged all residents of Ekiti and Nigerians at large to use the Easter season to seek God’s face for sustained peace and unity across the nation.Governor Oyebanji stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence among all religious groups, highlighting good neighbourliness, selflessness, and patience as essential virtues promoted by the Easter message.
While appreciating the Christian community for their prayers and support for his administration, the Governor noted that their cooperation has contributed significantly to the achievements recorded so far in the state.”I wish all the people of Ekiti State and Christians around the world a Happy Easter as we celebrate God’s greatest sacrifice to mankind.”The events surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are pivotal in the story of Christianity.
