Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed heartfelt condolences over the passing of former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd), who died on Sunday at the age of 70.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described the late Olubolade — also a former Minister of Police Affairs and governorship aspirant in Ekiti — as a distinguished son of the state whose contributions to national development spanned the military, politics, and public service.
The Governor said Ekiti has lost a remarkable figure whose life was marked by impactful service. He further noted that Olubolade’s legacy will continue to be remembered in Bayelsa State, where he laid the groundwork for development, as well as at the federal level, where he served in three different ministerial capacities.
Governor Oyebanji prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and extended condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Ipoti-Ekiti, his hometown.
