Governor Oyebanji Seeks Federal Support for Ekiti’s Development, Meets Key Ministers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has ramped up efforts to secure increased federal support for the state’s development by engaging with several federal ministries and agencies. On Friday, the Governor visited the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the Ministry of Works, and the Ministry of Education, where he held productive discussions with the respective ministers.

Governor Oyebanji’s meeting with Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, focused on leveraging federal programs to improve the welfare of Ekiti residents. The discussions centred on initiatives such as livelihood support, conditional cash transfers for women, and assistance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Governor commended the strategic role of the ministry and thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing a capable leader. The minister expressed strong support for Ekiti’s existing programmes and pledged increased federal assistance in 2025, especially in job creation and social safety nets.

The Governor also met with Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education, to explore opportunities for collaboration in transforming the education sector in Ekiti. Additionally, he visited the Ministry of Works, where he engaged with the Minister, Engr. Dave Umahi, to discuss infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing the state’s development. Through these engagements, Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering partnerships that will drive economic growth and improve the lives of Ekiti residents.
