“I Find Joy in Governance When Our Policies Positively Impact the People,” Says Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, expressed that his deepest satisfaction and fulfillment as governor arise from witnessing the positive effects of his administration’s policies on the lives of the people. Speaking at the December edition of the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship, tagged “He is Worthy”, held at his residence in Ikogosi Ekiti, Oyebanji highlighted the joy he derives when government initiatives lead to tangible progress and happiness among residents.

During the event, the governor reflected on his administration’s two-year performance, emphasizing achievements in critical sectors such as electricity, road construction, timely payment of salaries and pensions, and upgrades to health infrastructure. He attributed these accomplishments to divine intervention and acknowledged the virtues of honesty, simplicity, and contentment instilled in him by his parents as guiding principles in governance.

Governor Oyebanji stated: “If it is not to serve the people, makes no meaning to me. But it makes meaning when I see people responding positively to government policies, when government policies bring joy and progress.”The event, attended by hundreds of worshippers, including the Deputy Governor Chief Monisade Afuye, First Lady Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, and Christian and community leaders, featured praise sessions and gift distribution. Each participant received a 10kg bag of rice as a Christmas gift, marking the final edition of the programme for 2024.Notable attendees included the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by Rev. Emmanuel Aribasoye, Anglican Bishop Rt. Rev. Olusola Ajayi, and members of the Onikogosi-in-Council.
