No fewer than 26 communities in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, at the weekend rolled out the drums to celebrate one of their sons, Professor James Gbenga as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES) Iyin-Ekiti.
Aribisala, a professor of civil engineering from Ikole-Ekiti was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in March this year to head the newly created specialised institution.
The reception held in his honour at the premises of St Theresa Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Ikole-Ekiti on Saturday, had in attendance traditional rulers, four local government chairmen, residents, academia, youths, among others in the entire communities in the council area also known as Egbeoba Kingdom.
