JAMB to Screen Over 500 Underage Candidates for 2025/2026 Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed plans to set up a special screening committee to assess the eligibility of more than 500 exceptional candidates below the age of 16 seeking admission into tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session.

JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, announced the decision on Wednesday after a virtual meeting with key stakeholders in the education sector.

Oloyede disclosed that out of 41,027 underage candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), over 40,000 failed to meet the initial qualification requirements.
