The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that the first section of phase one of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project will be inaugurated in May 2025. This ambitious infrastructure project features a ten-lane highway, inclusive of a four-lane service road designed to support local communities.
Modern solar-powered streetlights will also be installed along the highway to ensure sustainability and enhance safety.The announcement was made by Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, during a project inspection. He confirmed that the contractor is making significant progress to meet the stipulated deadline.
Additionally, retaining walls will be constructed in areas like the Landmark section to ensure stability and durability.This coastal highway is expected to enhance regional connectivity, boost economic activities, and improve road safety for commuters.
