Nigerians are urging the Federal Government to conduct fresh tests on the quality of petrol sold at filling stations nationwide.
This follows a viral video alleging that petrol supplied by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) burns faster than usual, leading to concerns over its quality. However, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has maintained that NNPC’s fuel meets standard quality requirements.
Over the weekend, the NNPC refuted the claims, insisting that its petrol is not substandard. In a statement by its spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the company assured Nigerians that its fuel meets regulatory specifications and dismissed the viral video as misleading.
