The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Adewale Egbedun has led 24 other members elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, into the Accord party.
It was gathered that the lawmakers took the decision on Friday after their meeting at the Assembly complex.
The decision, it was gathered was to solidify Governor Ademola Adeleke’s hold on Accord party ahead of the governorship poll schedule for August 15 this year.
It would be recalled that the Governor had in December last year joined the Accord party while the lawmakers remained in the PDP until their decision on Friday.
When contacted the Speaker’s spokesperson, Olamide Tiamiyu confirmed the report, saying the 25 PDP elected lawmakers have joined Accord while the only APC lawmakers remain in the opposition.
