Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has stated that his administration has fulfilled over 90% of its campaign promises, emphasizing his commitment to infrastructure development. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Itawure-Okemesi road project, Oyebanji highlighted the electrification of over 30 communities that had been without power for nearly two decades as one of his administration’s achievements.
The governor underscored the economic and security significance of the road project, which will enhance connectivity and attract investment. The Itawure-Okemesi road marks the first phase of a broader initiative, with future plans to extend construction to Ikoro, Ipoti, Ijero, and Iloro. Oyebanji also pledged to improve electricity supply in Okemesi, promising to deploy a technical team early next year to address the issue.
Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, described the project as a milestone in opening Ekiti to investors, highlighting roads as critical to economic and community development. Community leaders and dignitaries, including Oba Gbadebo Adedeji and Chief Nathaniel Olaoye, expressed gratitude to the governor for prioritizing Okemesi in his developmental agenda. The event drew attendance from state legislators, traditional rulers, and other prominent stakeholders.
