Oyebanji Approves Additional N200m for Pension Gratuities in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the release of another N200 million for the payment of gratuities to retired state workers. The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary, Pension Transition Arrangement Department (PTAD), Mr Francis Omotoso, who said the disbursement would cover outstanding gratuities for pensioners up to July 2015.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti, Omotoso urged all affected pensioners to visit the PTAD office at the Old Governor’s Office for necessary documentation in preparation for collecting their cheques. He emphasised that the move was part of the administration’s ongoing effort to reduce the backlog of pension liabilities in the state.

It was also revealed that the Oyebanji administration has paid over N7.2 billion in gratuities since assuming office in October 2023. The latest approval underscores the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of retirees and ensuring financial justice for senior citizens who served the state.
