Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday commissioned a state-of-the-art dialysis centre at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti. The facility, equipped and donated by Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Folu, through His Love Foundation—the charity arm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)—is aimed at improving access to quality kidney care and enhancing the state’s healthcare system.
Describing the initiative as a testament to the power of collaboration between faith-based organisations and the government, Governor Oyebanji said the dialysis centre would save lives and reduce the burden on patients previously forced to travel long distances for treatment. The governor expressed deep appreciation to Pastor and Mrs. Adeboye for their generosity, while assuring the public that the facility will be well-staffed, maintained, and accessible to all.
Wife of the Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, revealed that the idea for the centre was birthed during a visit by RCCG women to her office two years ago. Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, and the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Kolawole Olabanji, praised the intervention, citing the dire need for dialysis services in the state. Representing Pastor Adeboye, RCCG’s Continental Overseer, Pastor Johnson Odesola, reaffirmed the church’s commitment to improving lives and supporting healthcare across Nigeria.
