Oyebanji Reaffirms Commitment to Transforming Ekiti Tourism

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his administration’s resolve to elevate the state’s tourism sites into world-class destinations. He made this known during the 7th edition of the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari held at Sagbonke Mountain, also known as the Mountain of Cloud, in Efon Alaaye Ekiti.

Governor Oyebanji highlighted the economic potential of tourism, noting that when fully harnessed, it could significantly boost the state’s internally generated revenue. He assured that his government would prioritise the renovation and modernisation of tourism infrastructure to attract both domestic and international visitors.

To this end, the Governor directed the Commissioners for Industry, Trade, Investment and Cooperatives; Arts and Culture; and the Director-General of the Bureau of Tourism Development to develop a comprehensive investment plan for Sagbonke Mountain. He also called on investors, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders to support the state’s vision of becoming a leading tourism hub in Nigeria.
