Oyebanji Set to Unveil Ekiti Food Security Project Today

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, is set to officially launch the Ekiti State Food Security Project today, Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The project includes the inauguration of the Ilu Eye Aggregation Hub and the Ounje Ekiti Retail Outlet—key components aimed at strengthening the state’s food system.

The announcement was made by Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, Chairman of the Ekiti State Food Security Committee and Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security. According to him, the event will take place at the Ilu Eye Agro Trading Warehouse, located at the old Odua Textile Complex in Bashiri, Ado-Ekiti, and is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.

The initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to curb food insecurity by tackling post-harvest losses. Through improved storage, food aggregation, and an efficient retail distribution network, the project aims to ensure greater availability and affordability of food across Ekiti State.
