Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has announced plans to upgrade infrastructure at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti. The goal, he said, is to reposition the institution as one of the best in the country.
Speaking during a meeting with the newly inaugurated executives of the EKSU Global Alumni Association, Governor Oyebanji also expressed interest in taking up voluntary teaching roles to mentor students and promote academic excellence.
The Governor, an EKSU alumnus, noted that key appointments, including the Chancellor and members of the Governing Council, were made strategically to strengthen the university. He added that new faculty buildings and a connection to the state’s IPP are part of ongoing projects.
He congratulated the new alumni executives, led by Ambassador Seyi Idowu, and praised their unity and support for the institution. Oyebanji pledged continued collaboration and called on alumni to promote and defend the university.
Ambassador Idowu, in response, commended the Governor for his commitment to education and assured him of the association’s support in driving digital transformation at EKSU.
