SSANIP Announces Three-Days Warning Strike Over Career Progression Policies

The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic (SSANIP) has announced a three-days warning strike set to begin on Wednesday, citing long-standing issues of equity and justice within the Polytechnic system. The union has been advocating for the implementation of career progression policies that fairly accommodate both Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff.

In a warning notice dated January 14, 2025, and addressed to the Minister of Education, SSANIP’s National Secretary, Nura Shehu Gaya, outlined the union’s grievances. The notice, titled “Notice of Three-day Warning Strike,” emphasizes the union’s frustration over the lack of progress in addressing their demands.

SSANIP’s decision to strike underscores their commitment to ensuring equitable treatment for all staff within the Polytechnic system. The union hopes the warning strike will prompt swift action from the relevant authorities to resolve the ongoing issues.
