The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for private candidates, Second Series

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for private candidates, Second Series. The examination, conducted between October 25 and December 20, 2024, saw 65,023 candidates participate across Nigeria. Notably, 34,878 candidates, representing 53.64%, achieved credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, marking a significant improvement from previous years.

However, WAEC has withheld the results of 2,577 candidates, accounting for 3.96% of the total, due to various allegations of examination malpractice. Affected candidates are advised to visit the WAEC Notice of Examination Malpractice Portal to address these allegations.

For candidates eager to check their results, WAEC has provided an online procedure:

  1. Visit the official WAEC result checker website: www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.
  3. Input the four-digit Examination Year, e.g., 2024.
  4. Select ‘Private Candidate Results’ as the Examination Type.
  5. Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number.
  6. Provide the Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the e-PIN.
  7. Click ‘Submit’ and wait for the results window to display your performance.

This year’s examination introduced a hybrid mode, combining traditional paper-and-pen tests with computer-based assessments, aiming to enhance the evaluation process.

Candidates are encouraged to promptly check their results and address any issues through the appropriate WAEC channels.
