Tinubu Awaits New Ministerial Scorecards Ahead of Second-Year Milestone

With President Bola Tinubu set to mark his second year in office on 29 May, the Central Results Delivery and Coordination Unit (CDCU) is finalising updated performance scorecards for all federal ministries, presidency sources confirmed on Monday. The confidential assessment, covering the first quarter of 2025, will evaluate the progress of each ministry against targets set under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Officials said the CDCU is verifying data submitted by ministers, assigning scores, and identifying gaps that need urgent attention. Early indications suggest that several ministries deemed under-performing in previous reviews are under heightened scrutiny, as the President weighs mid-term adjustments to accelerate policy delivery.

The quarterly scorecards form part of Tinubu’s accountability framework, introduced last August to track implementation of priority projects and reforms. According to senior aides, the latest report could reach the President “any time from now”, giving him a snapshot of achievements and shortcomings before he addresses the nation on the anniversary of his inauguration.
