Tinubu Rejects Allegations of Authoritarianism, Says Opposition Affairs Not His Concern

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has refuted claims of authoritarianism levelled by opposition figures, insisting that managing the internal affairs of political parties outside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is not his responsibility.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu stressed that the leadership and governance of opposition parties are matters strictly for their members to handle, without interference from the presidency.

His remarks follow a wave of defections and political realignments, including the open support declared by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and shifting loyalties involving Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former PDP vice-presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa.
