President Bola Tinubu has pledged to confront the issue of land-grabbing in Benue State if investigations confirm it as the root cause of the recurring attacks by armed herdsmen. He emphasized that such criminal acts will not be tolerated under his administration.
As part of peacebuilding efforts, the President also announced the formation of a committee comprising respected elders, former governors, and two prominent traditional rulers from the state. The committee is expected to play a key role in restoring peace and stability in the troubled region.
In a decisive move, President Tinubu directed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, to immediately apprehend those responsible for the recent killings. He assured residents of his government’s commitment to justice and long-term peace in Benue.
