WORLD BANK APPROVES ULTRA-MODERN ABATTOIR PROJECT FOR ADO-EKITI

The World Bank has given the green light for the construction of an ultra-modern abattoir in Ado-Ekiti under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the livestock value chain, boosting food safety, and fostering economic development in the state.

Disclosing this at a forum in Ado-Ekiti, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Ebenezer Boluwade, stated that the facility would be located along Iworoko Road. According to him, the abattoir is designed as a dual-purpose facility that will feature advanced meat processing equipment, a cold storage unit, and a modern waste management system to support efficient and hygienic operations.

Boluwade emphasized that the abattoir would comply with strict sanitation and hygiene protocols. He assured that standard operating procedures would be followed across all activities, with a strong focus on quality control and public health, making the facility a benchmark for meat processing in the state.
