Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for Ukraine and its allies to intensify pressure on Russia to end its invasion, ahead of his meeting in Berlin with European leaders and US President Donald Trump. He stressed that such pressure was necessary to achieve a fair peace and warned against any deception from Moscow.
Zelensky noted that there were no indications Russia was preparing to end the war. He said he and his team had engaged in more than 30 conversations with world leaders and senior officials in preparation for the Berlin talks. The discussions are taking place ahead of Trump’s planned summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A member of the Ukrainian delegation told AFP that recent Russian advances around the mining hub of Dobropillia had not affected preparations for Wednesday’s meeting. The talks in Berlin are expected to focus on coordinated strategies to counter Moscow’s aggression and secure a lasting resolution to the conflict.
