The Federal Government has emphasized the need for the civil service to take the lead in addressing 21st-century challenges facing public administration. This was the charge from the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, during her opening address at the inaugural International Civil Service Conference held in Abuja on Wednesday.
The event, hosted by the Federal Government in collaboration with the Global Government Forum UK, attracted over 5,000 delegates from Africa, Europe, Asia, and other regions. Walson-Jack described the gathering as the beginning of a movement focused on renewal, innovation, and accelerated public service delivery.
She noted that the conference brought together reformers, thinkers, and practitioners from across the globe, united by a shared belief in the vital role of the civil service as a key driver of national development and global stability.
