Fayemi Backs Oyebanji for Ekiti 2026, Calls for Unity in APC

Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has officially endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term, citing his administration’s outstanding achievements over the past two years. Speaking at a year-end gathering with APC leaders from all 16 local government areas at his Isan Ekiti residence, Fayemi described Oyebanji as a “dedicated Omoluabi” whose leadership deserves continued support for sustained development until 2030.

Fayemi, however, maintained his democratic stance, stating that his endorsement does not preclude other aspirants from contesting the party’s ticket. Emphasising unity, he encouraged party leaders to begin grassroots mobilisation, underscoring the importance of collective effort in ensuring APC’s success. His remarks drew enthusiastic applause from over 5,000 party faithful present.

Governor Oyebanji, in his response, expressed gratitude to Fayemi and other party leaders for their support. Promising to uphold good governance, he attributed his administration’s achievements to collaborative efforts and assured the party of continued progress, emphasising loyalty and unity within the APC. Party leaders also commended Oyebanji’s transformative governance, highlighting its impact on Ekiti State.
