In a bid to advance Ekiti State’s arts, culture, and creative economy, Governor Biodun Oyebanji met with Nollywood power couple Lateef and Mo Bimpe Adedeji at the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti this afternoon. The meeting centred on potential collaborations between the state government and creative industry stakeholders to enhance the state’s cultural heritage and drive economic growth through arts and entertainment.
Key government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Mr Niyi Adebayo, and the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Prof Rasak Ojo Bakare, were present at the session. Discussions explored strategies to position Ekiti as a hub for creative excellence, leveraging the talents and influence of Nollywood stars to promote the state’s rich cultural identity. The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to investing in the creative sector as a vital component of Ekiti’s economic development.
Speaking after the meeting, Governor Oyebanji expressed optimism about the potential of the partnership to attract investment, create jobs, and amplify the global reach of Ekiti’s cultural assets.
