Renowned celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has apologised to a dissatisfied customer who criticised the quality and portion of a ₦6,000 turkey pepper soup served at her restaurant, Food by Hilda. The apology comes after the customer, Omotayo Zinnat, took to social media to express her disappointment, describing the dish as cold and unappealing, even comparing its appearance to “dog vomit.”
Zinnat’s video quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions from social media users. While some sympathised with her, others, including online commentator Verydarkman, criticised her for making the complaint public. He argued that she could have simply prepared the pepper soup herself instead of complaining about its quality.
Responding to the backlash, Hilda Baci acknowledged the concerns and issued an apology, reaffirming her commitment to customer satisfaction. She assured her patrons that her team is working to address any service lapses and improve the dining experience at her establishment. The incident has ignited a broader conversation about food pricing, portion sizes, and customer expectations at high-end restaurants in Nigeria.
