NUC Grants Full Accreditation to 18 Programmes in EKSU

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 18 academic programmes at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the accreditation followed a rigorous assessment exercise conducted by the NUC in October and November 2023. He described the approval as a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and standardised education delivery.

According to the statement, the newly accredited programmes cut across various faculties, including Agricultural Science, Arts, Education, Management Sciences, Science, and Social Sciences. Programmes such as Law, Theatre Arts, English and Literary Studies, Accounting, Business Administration, Chemistry, and Computer Science received full accreditation status, indicating that the university meets the required academic, infrastructural, and staffing standards set by the NUC. Prof. Olanipekun appreciated the Ekiti State Government, staff, and students for their support throughout the accreditation process.

The Vice Chancellor also reiterated the university’s dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in teaching, research, and community service. He stated that the accreditation would not only boost the university’s reputation but also open more academic and professional opportunities for students and graduates of the institution. He assured stakeholders that EKSU would continue to uphold high academic standards and strive to secure accreditation for all remaining programmes.
