The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the resumption of operations at the 125,000-barrel-per-day Warri Refining & Petrochemicals Company in Warri, Delta State. This development comes barely a month after the 60,000-barrel-per-day Port Harcourt Refinery began operations.
NNPCL’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, disclosed this on Monday during a facility tour.In a video shared by Channels TV, Kyari was seen addressing a tour team that included Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The resumption of the Warri Refinery is part of the NNPCL’s broader efforts to enhance domestic refining capacity and reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products.
