ADELEKE DENIES ELECTORAL ALLIANCE WITH ADC AHEAD OF 2027

August 19, 2026

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied claims that he entered into an electoral alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before, during or after the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke, in a statement posted on his verified X account, said the ADC was not part of the “rainbow coalition” that supported his campaign.

The governor credited his re-election victory to God and the people of Osun State, dismissing claims that the ADC played a role in securing his victory.

The denial followed reports that the ADC had claimed it supported Adeleke’s re-election bid in the governorship election.

Adeleke defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, with 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.

The development has sparked fresh political discussions as attention shifts from the outcome of the Osun governorship election to preparations and possible alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
