OBI CALLS ON TINUBU TO LEAVE OFFICE IN 2027
October 28, 2026
Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to leave office in 2027, criticising his administration over poverty, unemployment, corruption and insecurity.
Obi made the remarks in Abuja during the inauguration of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
The former Anambra State governor questioned the government’s handling of public funds and borrowing since taking office in 2023. He also accused the administration of lacking the commitment needed to address Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.
Obi said the NDC would prioritise tackling corruption and insecurity while ensuring that public resources are used to improve the lives of Nigerians.
His comments come as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
