Ekiti Governor Partners Nollywood Stars for Epic Ekiti Parapo War Film

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the production of a historical film on the Ekiti Parapo War, an epic story of the Ekiti people’s resilience against oppression. The project, which will be privately funded, is set to be led by AL Notions Film Company, the producers of the Lisabi epic movie. The initiative aims to preserve Ekiti’s rich history while promoting the state’s cultural and creative economy.

According to a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the production will be a collaboration between the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, owned by Nollywood stars Lateef and Adebimpe Adedimeji. Governor Oyebanji, during a meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, expressed confidence that the project would be a world-class production, accurately depicting the events of the historic war.

The Ekiti Parapo War film is expected to spotlight the unity and determination of the Ekiti people in their fight for justice. The collaboration reflects Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to leveraging the creative industry for historical documentation and economic growth. The project is also expected to create job opportunities for local talents and attract international recognition for Ekiti’s cultural heritage.
